چکیده

Saliva plays major roles in the human-to-human transmission of SARS-CoV-2. If virus saliva SARS-CoV-2-infected individuals can be rapidly and efficiently inactivated by a beverage, ingestion beverage may attenuate spread infection within population. Recently, we reported that SARS-CoV-2 was significantly treatment with black tea, green roasted tea oolong as well their constituents, (-) epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), theasinensin A (TSA), galloylated theaflavins. However, it remains unclear to what extent inactivates present saliva, because contains various proteins, nitrogenous products, electrolytes, so on, which could influence antivirus effect tea. Here, assessed whether added human saliva. healthy vitro, after or infectivity evaluated TCID50 assays. The titer fell below detectable level less than 1/100 for 10 s. tea-treated remarkably replicated cells compared untreated virus. These findings suggest possibility inactivate infected individuals, although clinical studies are required determine intensity duration anti-viral humans.

Comparison of pH and Flow Rate of Saliva After Using Black Tea, Green Tea and Coffee in Periodontal Patients and Normal Group

Objectives: Periodontal pathogens need acidic environments to proliferate in periodontium, and their growth is affected by the salivary flow rate and pH of the mouth. Alterations in flow and acidity of saliva have an important effect on oral diseases such as periodontitis. This study was designed to compare salivary pH and flow rate before and after using green tea, black tea and coffee in pati...

Antioxidant activity of black tea vs. green tea.

Dear Editor: A recent article by Leung et al. (1) reported that drinking black tea has benefits equal to those of drinking green tea in terms of their antioxidant capacities because theaflavins present in black tea possess at least the same antioxidant potency as catechins present in green tea. As reported in related studies (2–4), it is clear that a group of theaflavins (TF) in black tea, spec...
